Statement on Syria/Türkiye earthquake
The Association for New Canadians’ board and staff extend deepest sympathy to the people of Syria and Türkiye affected by this month’s tragic earthquake, and to their family, friends, and colleagues this province.
“Our thoughts are with the people who have lost family members, friends, and homes in this cataclysmic event,” said Megan Morris, ANC Executive Director.
“The impact of disaster on this scale is unfathomable. We offer particular sympathy and support to our current and former clients who have been personally affected by the tragedy.”
People who wish to help can donate to the Red Cross/Red Crescent. Until February 22, the Canadian government will match donations from this country.
