ANC Congratulates Tilak Chawan, 2016 RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award Winner
The ANC would like to extend sincere congratulations to our employee, Tilak Chawan, who was recently named an RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award winner! A panel of judges selected 75 nominees from over 600 applicants and Tilak was among those who were chosen following two rounds of public voting. The Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award is a peoples’ choice honour that recognizes inspirational immigrants who have come to Canada, achieved success, and have had a positive impact on their community.
This award is certainly well-deserved given the success Tilak has had since coming to Canada in 2012. The contribution he has made to adolescent refugees, through his work as a Settlement Workers in the School (SWIS) Counsellor, has been especially inspiring. Please join us in congratulating Tilak on receiving this prestigious award!

The ANC would like to express our sincere thanks to the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador who have so generously contributed to our Private Sponsorship of Refugees Fund.
This fund has been established to support those who wish to sponsor a family member, friend or loved one, but who do not have the financial resources to do so. The fund will also be used to assist Co-Sponsors with their efforts to meet the demands of sponsorship. All funds in this trust go directly towards costs of sponsoring a refugee/refugee family in Newfoundland and Labrador.
As of June 24, 2016, community members have donated a total of $109,856 to our Private Sponsorship of Refugees Fund!
We are also pleased to announce that as of June 24, 2016, a total of $627,596 has been raised by community groups who have decided to go forward with private sponsorships!
If you would like more information on sponsoring a refugee or donating to our sponsorship fund, please contact Ken at firstname.lastname@example.org...
