2017 Diversity Symposium
Please join the Association for New Canadians (ANC) at this year’s annual Diversity Symposium on Thursday, May 25th, 2017, in Salon D at the Hotel Gander, as we celebrate 8 years of specialised workshops on Diversity and Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The focus for the 2017 Symposium will be Diversity and the Business Community in Gander and around the Kittiwake Coast.
“Business Diversity at the Crossroads of the World” will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and it is expected that a broad cross-section of central Newfoundland’s Business Community will participate. From 9 o'clock to the beginning of the Symposium, there will be a "welcome" Coffee Networking session hosted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE).
The Symposium will comprise Business Presentations, Panel Discussions and General Debate on the benefits and challenges associated with integrating newcomer immigrants into the Workforces of Gander and environs. The Keynote Speaker will be Tareq Hadhad, a Syrian refugee who founded and owns "Peace by Chocolate" in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and whose entrepreneurial endeavours in promoting peace and creating jobs were referenced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the 2016 UN Leaders' Summit on Refugees.
The Registration Fee is $40 which includes a buffet lunch and refreshments.
Space is limited, so please register early. To register and reserve your spot click on the "Register Now" button below.
