IDEAS 2022 is an employer-focused event aiming to make Newfoundland and Labrador’s workplaces more welcoming for immigrants, racialized people and others from underrepresented groups. This summit provides a forum to showcase the positive contributions and impact of immigrants on communities while facilitating a larger conversation about the value of intercultural awareness, inclusion, and integration of diverse groups in the province. The theme for this year’s event, Inspiring Creativity in a Diverse Workplace, aims to explore how organizations can move beyond hiring a diverse workforce to creating a space where employees are inspired to reach their full potential. We feel it is very important to not only promote diversity and inclusion in our province’s workforce but also to provide attendees with real tools to be able to help immigrants feel included, respected and productive.

2022 IDEA Awards

The IDEA Awards are a pan-provincial showcase recognizing individuals, groups, and corporations doing outstanding work in the fields of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism.
If you know leaders in our communities, schools, and businesses who are making a difference, please considering nominating them for one of the following awards:
- Anti-Racism and Inclusivity Youth Award (18 & under)
- Cultural Educator of the Year
- Community Hero Award
- Bridget Foster Cultural Business Icon Award
- RBC Diversity Leadership Award
- Hospitality NL International Ambassador Award
Closing date for nominations is November 4, 2022
Awards will be presented on November 17 at the Emera Innovation Exchange, as part of IDEA Summit.
