Settlement and Orientation
The Resettlement Assistance and Settlement Programs offer a variety of services, depending on the immigration status of an individual.

Language Training and Assessment
The ANC offers English as a Second Language (ESL) training based on the federal Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) curriculum guidelines and the national standard Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). All instruction is provided by qualified instructors.

Career and Employment Services
Career and Employment Services is the employment division of the ANC that provides career-focused employment programs and services as well as customized workplace communications training for immigrants living throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Private Sponsorship of Refugees
Through the Government of Canada’s Refugee Sponsorship Program, Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents can collaborate with a Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) (of which the Association for New Canadians is one) to support refugee resettlement in Canada.

Children and Youth Programs (CAYP)
The ANC’s Children and Youth Programs division (CAYP) is designed to assist children, youth, and their families as they transition into the Canadian school system.

Community Connections
The Community Connections Program engages citizens, immigrants and refugees to create meaningful community connections in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Program assists immigrants adapt to life in Canada by matching them with local volunteers who provide assistance with learning English, establishing social connections, and integrating into their new community.

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY)
The HIPPY Program is for parents and their children aged 3-5 years old. Our team works to support parents to strengthen families and communities by helping prepare their children for success in school.

My Journey of Hope
MJOH is facilitated by qualified staff, and community peers, matching similar ages and lived experience.
It is multi-session journey where youth can connect with their peers, express themselves and be supported while learning valuable skills for their overall wellbeing and future success in Canada.
